    Greyhound Racing TRIP TO DUBUQUE

     TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Well we made our third trip from south Florida to Dubuque Greyhound Track last July to watch our dogs run for a few days, flying into Moline, IL, renting a car, and driving over to Dubuque. Joining us were my brother and his wife and another couple from ILL. As they drove over from ILL two separate cars. Also joining us were our good friends Bill and Sharon Newpower from Minnesota and a friend of theirs who drove them down. Bill also owns dogs and was making his first trip to Dubuque. They are pretty big gamblers as they go to the track in Naples, Florida with us in the winter and the Indian casinio in Hinkley, Minnesota on a very regular basis. The first mistake made by Dubuque greyhound park is they would not comp rooms for any body. Not that it bothered me too much ,even though I get rooms comped most places we go. But it bothered Bill a great deal, so he calls Hinkley and the Indians call the Diamond Joe casino in Dubuque and Bill is treated to first class rooms. Now we go to Mystique to watch our dogs run and bet the races but gamble very little at their casino. We loved watching the dogs run and the three days we were there crowd's were very good. Every time we have attended there have been lots of people and they run a first class dog track but need to improve how they treat people who would spend money in their casino. The Newpowers treated all of us to dinner comped by the Diomond Joe In their steak house about a Five hundred dollar comp. So the end result is the Newpowers gambled about hundred thousand dollars not lost but total amount. We the Webers spent about eight thousand and the rest totaled five or six thousand. Total amount three days around one hundred thirty thousand dollars! ONCE again we would not have been in Dubuque IOWA if it was not for dog racing. We are planning another trip this summer, bigger more people and hope to continue as long as we have dogs. Mystique does a great job with the the dogs!
    Sincerly,
    THE WEBER'S
