    Greyhound Racing MAY CONFERENCE CALL

    May 17,2004 IGA Board of Directors conference. Minutes written & submitted by Gloria Sanders Exec. Secretary.

    Roll call. Bob Hardison, David Ungs(absent),Alan Hill, Gloria Sanders, Bev Yates, Bob Rider, David Robinette, Randy Schaben, Earl Rettenmeier, Jerry Crawford, Don Avenson, Jon Garner.
    Pay Bills. This phone conference-Bev Yates. Phone, postage, June IGA newsletter expense, office supplies-Gloria sanders.

    Greg Schipull resigned as Treasurer due to job & other matters prohibiting him from being involved on a regular basis. President Bob Hardison appointed Alan Hill-IGA member & breeder from Radcliff, Iowa to fill Greg's position as treasurer until the January 2005 IGA election of officers meeting.

    Treasurers report-Alan Hill. Note Alan Hill's address for submitting your 2004 IGA membership dues on the application & inside the front cover of the June IGA newsletter.

    Leftover funds from Bluffs Run for 2003. The IGA board of Directors is in the process of determining the amount of money leftover at the end of 2003 in purse money with the new tax settlement.

    Don Avenson-Legislative Consultant spoke about getting the best deal with the new taxation agreed upon by all tracks. (SEE ENCLOSURE ABOUT TAXES) in the June IGA newsletter.

    Hiring an Executive Director. The board voted to table the decision of hiring this person until the entire board is present & a definate criteria can be chosen for a person or persons needed for the position. To date we have 9 applicants.

    The board voted to hold the IGA summer meeting on Saturday July 10th at 10:00 am at the Starlight Quality Inn, Ames, Iowa. At this meeting the membership will be voting on the committee for the 2005 negotiations with Dubuque Grayhound Park & Casino. No committee will be needed at this time for Bluffs Run, as we have a two year agreement.

    The IGA will be meeting with Bliffs Run on June 17th to continue discussions on promrtions, sprint path, etc.
