    Greyhound Racing MEET THE TRAINER

    I took this off the Dubuque Greyhound Park and Casino web site. I'm not sure who wrote them , but they are worth reading

    Ed Trow is the trainer for the kennel he owns,the Oxbow-Trow Kennel. Ed is from Dubuque and has been in the greyhound business for 33 years. He has worked on Greyhound Farms, trained and owned his own kennel. Some of his accoplishments include being named Trainer of the Year,1st Place Kennel at Valley Greyhound Park, He has won the Great Greyhound Race in Seabrook,NH and the 1989 Iowa Breeders Cup. He has trained 7 years at Dubuque and 5 years at Valley Greyhound Park in Texas. When he is not working,Ed enjoys riding his Harley,playing pool and listening to Blues Music.

    Jack Shaver is the trainer for the Dog Patch Kennel. Jack is from St. Petersburg Florida. Jack has spent 34 years as a trainer. Jack has won the Iowa Breeders Cup at Dubuque and Council Bluffs. A greyhound to watch this year is New Way Jay. In his free time Jack likes to go fishing.

    Tammy Ertl is the trainer for the Stidham-Stout kennel. Tammy is from Dubuque and has been a trainer for 3 years. She also helps her husband raise Greyhounds. Her greyhound,JD BEAUTIFIL DAY won the 2006 Secretary's Choice Stakes at Dubuque in 2006. Some of the greyhounds to watch this year include JD Titanium,JD Fury and Open The Door. In her free time she enjoys watching football,especially her beloved Minnesota Vikings. Tammy also enjoys playing poker in her free time.

    Gary Baish from Waterloo Iowa trains for the Bean & Hardison Kennel. Gary has been a trainer for 4 years but has been around the Greyhound Industry for a long time. Garys wins include The Iowa Breeders Cup and the Maiden Debut along with the Memorial Sprint races at Dubuque in 1997. He also won the Iowa Breeders Cup in 2002. In his free time likes to bowl and raise Greyhounds.

    Scott Robinette is the trainer of the Iowa Racers Kennel. Scott hails from Phoenix Arizona and has been a trainer for 12 years Scott has two big wins in Kansas with the Kansas Bred Stakes in Kansas City and he won the Kansas Shoot Out. Some of the greyhounds to watch this year from the Iowa Racers Kennel are Shrewed Operator,Rookie McQueen and Reaching My Peak. Scott enjoys fishing and playing cards.
