Wednesday, March 21, the first eight races will hold the 64 greyhounds competing for the $60,000.This years Spring Futurity had more than enough entries. The Plum Creek Kennel has entered 15 greyhounds, the Bartley Corporation Kennel entered eight greyhounds and the Wilhite Kennel entered nine greyhounds. Those three kennels have seen much success this year, with the biggest improvement coming from the Wilhite Kennel.
A strong litter that should have a profound effect on the Spring Futurity is the litter of Trojan Cruze – Kiowa Morley BB. This litter has four greyhounds in the Spring Futurity: Hot Rod, Sky Legend, Join The Fun, and Driven Toperform. This litter hopes to become the Fantastic Four.

HOT ROD should be a heavy favorite to win the Spring Futurity. He is currently in grade A and has won his last three in a row in grade A. However in the first round he has the #4 post in the 8th race, but he should still hit the board.
SKY LEGEND has been on a roll in his last three starts, but if you look closer two of those wins were in schooling. Winning his last official race by nine lengths will make him a betting favorite. Sky Legend is the Plum Creek Kennel favorite to win the Spring Futurity.
JOIN THE FUN has been in the outside post in his last seven starts and he still hit the board in all seven starts. In the first round he will have the #3 post and should be a favorite to win his race. He will progress well in the Spring Futurity, if he doesn’t fade too early.

THRILL A MINUTE she gets out on top, but the thrill is how she will surrender her lead every race. I bet she feels like it took her a minute to run a race. Trainer Lori Fortune said, “I hope she makes the finals, because this race is the toughest she has seen in a long time.”

BARTS JERSEYGIRL is a solid racer. She has proven herself in grade A, only missing the board one time this year. She should drive for a win in her first round 4th race. Barts Jerseygirl is the Bartley Corporation favorite to win the Spring Futurity.
BOW SPOTLITE was greyhound of the month of February and should be a heavy favorite to win the 5th race. Out of the #1 post he should break on top and pull away from the field.

VOTE PEDRO has come back to Bluffs Run from St. Pete. Even with his bad racing luck at St. Pete, many will Vote for Pedro to win the Spring Futurity. He should be competitive.

BARTS CYCLONIC has a lot of close to him, however if he gets touched he will back out
of the race. Keeping the races clean is the answer for Barts Cyclonic to make the finals. In his first round he has the #1 post and he will need it in this tough 2nd race.

KEEPER CAICOS loves to get on top but comes up short. Getting caught will happen, but as long as he hits the board he will advance thru the Spring Futurity.

NEW CHAPTER if he can avoid trouble he will dominate the 6th race. New Chapter has quickly moved up in grade going from grade M to Grade A in seven starts. In his four wins he has made quite a statement, winning out of the #1 post by 12 lengths and winning out of the #6 post by 10 lengths. New Chapter is one of two sleepers that I pick to make the finals of the Spring Futurity.

COLORADO CHRIS should be the heavy favorite in the 3rd race. In this race the #4 post will help him as long as he is in front of the trouble in the first turn. Colorado Chris is the Boeckenstedt Kennel favorite to win the Spring Futurity. Colorado Chris is my second sleeper that I pick to make the finals of the Spring Futurity.

Some of the best pups we have had in a couple of years. Should- make for a very interesting race.
